Welcome to the website of Troops 80, Scouts BSA in Rochester, Minnesota.
We are a member of Gamehaven Council, and Chartered by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Troop 80 is a place for youth to learn new things, make new friendships, go on memorable adventures, and have fun.
We are a very welcoming community who accepts youth as they are and encourages each individual to do their best.

Here are the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.
When and where do we meet?
We meet weekly on Thursdays from 6:30pm to 8:15pm during the school year and have monthly meetings in the summer. We gather in our patrols on the first Thursday of each month to hold a fun meeting. We usually meet at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, but occasionally meet in outdoor areas.
What are Meetings?
They our weekly chance to learn something, play some games, connect with friends, earn Merit Badges, and most importantly to have fun!
What is a Merit Badge?
A Merit Badge is a chance to learn about a new life skill, a career path, or just something that sounds fun and interesting. There are over a hundred to choose from, but if they would like to earn their Eagle Scout they will have to earn 21 required merit badges. When scouts have completed a Merit Badge, they will be rewarded with a cool patch that you can sew onto a Merit Badge Sash.
How is the Troop lead?
Scouting America is a youth-lead organization, meaning that the scouts plan everything they can with adult leader guidance. The scouts hold a monthly planning meeting named the Patrol Leaders Council (aka the PLC). At the PLC the leadership of the troop come together to determine the upcoming plans and scheduling.
How can the parents help?
Parents can support the troop by attending the Committee meetings. They can also take an active position in the troop. If you have more questions, please let us know by either letting one of the leaders know or by filling out the contact form.
Is there anything that makes your Troop unique?
Troop 80 has been around since 1984. We have had many Scoutmasters, Scouts, and Eagle Scouts. Becoming an Eagle Scout or as we call it, "Souring with Eagles is what we encourage, but we are grounded in Scouting's motto, "Do a Good Turn Daily." We volunteer a lot to our community.
